DEVICE-NETWORKING FAILURE
Please note when adding device:
1. Confirm device is powered on.
2. Confirm the device is under config mode.
3. Confirm that device, smartphone and router are close to each other.
4. Make sure the network function of router and smartphone are unblocked.
5. Confirm the entered router password is correct.
6. Confirm adding device is under 2.4 Wi-Fi channel. Enable the broadcast and not allow to hide Wi-Fi.
7. Confirm that router’s encryption method is WPA2-PSK and authentication type is AES, or both are set up as automatic.
8. If router connected devices reach the amount limit. Please try to turn off some devices’ Wi-Fi function and configure again.
9. If router enables MAC address filter, please try removing the device from MAC filter list and make sure router is allowing device to be connected.
HOW TO ADD DEVICES TO THE APP? (WIFI)
1. Download ‘Smart Life’ App
Please scan QR code, or search by ‘Smart Life’ to download on App Store or Google Play.
2. Register an account
Open app into the register/login interface. You can register by email or phone number. Input the phone number or email address for getting verification code to register.
3. Add device
1. Power on your device.
2. Log in your App, and select the + Icon on the top right of the app to add device, select the right device.
There are two config mode: EZ mode and AP mode.
EZ Mode:
Ensure the indicator light flashing quickly (twice a second) which indicates that the device is in config mode which allows you to connect.
Please refer to the operation instructions at the top of the ‘Confirm indicator rapidly blink’ button about ‘View Help’
AP Mode:
Click the ‘AP Mode’ in the upper right corner. After the indicator light flashes slowly, click the confirmation button on the page to connect to a 2.4G network. Then click ‘Go connect’ to connect to the hotspot of the device ‘SmartLife_XXXX’.
HOW TO DEAL WITH IT WHEN THE DEVICE IS OFFLINE?
1. Please confirm whether the device is on and has power.
2. Please confirm whether the device or the network has been cut off. If so, there is a process to go online. Please check whether it is online after 2 minutes.
3. Please confirm whether the device was turned off manually. If so, it will cause the device to go offline. You need to remove the device and add it again.
(Device Removal Method: Open the app and enter the device control page, click ‘…’ button which is in the top right corner, click on the bottom of the page ‘remove device’)
4. Please confirm the network is stable. (Check methods: Put the smartphone besides your device and make sure they’re in the same network environment, try to open a website to judge if the network can be used.)
5. Confirm whether the home Wi-Fi network is normal, or whether the Wi-Fi name and password have been modified. If so, remove the device and add it again.
Please Note: 5G Wi-Fi is temporarily not supported, only 2.4G Wi-Fi can be used.
6. If the network is normal, but the device is still offline, check if there are too many Wi-Fi connections. Please try to restart the router, wait 3 minutes and observe the status of the device.
7. If all is normal after check, please provide your account for app, your router model, your country and the fault device id (send E-mail to te*******@***********ng.com), we will handle it ASAP.
HOW TO SET THE DEVICE TO THE CONNECTION NETWORK STATUS?
There are two types of device network distribution, default mode (quick flash) and Ap mode (slow flash)
The AP mode is one step longer than default mode. Repeat step 3 again until the light indicator light flashes slowly.
Device network distribution method (resetting) method):
1. The device automatically enters the quick flash status after it is powered on for the first time. If the device has an indicator light, the light flashes; if the device has no indicator light, such as bulbs, it flashes itself. If the device does not flash quickly, you are advised to log in the app and click ‘+’ in the top right corner, select the corresponding device type, and click to enter ‘Add Device’ page. The notice of ‘How to Set the Indicator Light to Quick Flash’ is above the ‘Confirm Indicator Is Flashing Fast’ button, you may click to see the details.
2. If the product has an On-Off button but no reset button, such as a socket, please press and hold the button for 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes quickly.
3. If the device has no switches, such as a light, please connect it to a light socket and operate the switch ‘On/Off’ for 3 times, keep it on until the light flashes quickly.
3. If the product has a reset button, generally you can just press the reset button until the indicator light flashes quickly.
NOTE: Pairing supports 2.4G network. 5G network is temporarily unavailable. Please see the device manual for details.
HOW TO ACHIEVE GROUP CONTROL OF MULTIPLE DEVICES?
If multiple devices of the same model have been added in the app and you want to achieve group control, you can go to the device page which you want to add a group. Click the upper right corner ‘…’ and then click ‘Create Group’. Tick the device you want to group and click the ‘Confirm’ button in the upper right corner to create a group. The devices in the group can be controlled by the group.
HOW TO CONTROL SMART DEVICES WITH GOOGLE HOME?
1. What you need to get started
Before using Google Home to control your devices, make sure you meet the following conditions:
A Google Home device, or Android phone with Google Assistant
Latest Google Home app.
Latest Google app (Android only)
A Google account.
The device display language must be set to English US.
Smart Life app and a related account.
Smart devices.
2. Add devices in Smart Life app (Refer to App Instruction)
You can skip this part if you’ve already added some devices to your Smart Life account, and in the meantime the devices’ name are easily recognised.
2.1. Download Smart Life app (Refer to App Instruction)
You can scan the QR code below to download the Smart Life app:

You can also search ‘Smart Life’ in either App Store or Google Play to install the app.
Note: ‘Smart Life’ app is just a app name (for example), you can download your app.
2.2. Register a Smart life account and sign in the app (Refer to App Instruction)
Open the Smart Life app, tap ‘Register’ to register an account, then sign in the app.
2.3. Add device and change device’s name (Refer to App Instruction)
Sign in with the Smart Life account, add the device, then change device name to a easily recognised word or phase, like ‘bedroom light’.
3. Link Smart Life account in Home Control
ATTENTION: Due to the Google Home app’s known bug, you could only use one Google account to control ‘Home Control Action’. if you sign in Google Home app with several Google accounts, only the first Google account you signed in can be used for ‘Home Control’.
1. Tap ‘Home Control’ in the hamburger menu on the Google Home app’s home page, then tap ‘+’.
2. Find ‘Tuya Smart’ in the list. In the new window, select your Tuya Smart account’s region, type your Tuya Smart accont and password, then tap ‘Link Now’. After you assign rooms for devices, your devices will be listed in the Home Control page.
(If you use smart life app, it can also be found in the list, login and authorise, the same way)
4. Control your smart devices through Google Home
Now you can control your smart devices through Google Home. Take bedroom light as the example, the supported voice commands are as below:
Ok Google, turn on/off bedroom light.
Ok Google, set bedroom light to 50 percent.
Ok Google, brighten bedroom light.
Ok Google, dim bedroom light.
Ok Google, set bedroom light to red.
HOW TO CONTROL SMART DEVICES WITH AMAZON ECHO?
1. What you need to get started
Before using Echo to control your smart devices, make sure you meet the following conditions:
An Echo device, including Echo or Echo Dot.
An Amazon account.
Smart Life app and related account.
Smart devices.
2. Add devices in Smart Life app (Refer to App Instruction)
You can skip this part if you’ve already added some devices to your Smart Life account, and in the meantime the devices’ name are easily recognised.
2.1. Download Smart Life app (Refer to App Instruction)
You can scan the QR code on the manual or search ‘Smart Life’ in either App Store or Google Play to install the app.
Note: ‘smart life’ app is just a app name (for example), you can download your app.

3. Set up Amazon Echo and enable Smart life Skill
User can configure Echo through web or Alexa app.
Search ‘Amazon Alexa’ in App Store or Google Play to install the app.
We take app configuration as an example. Configuration through web and app are basically the same.
3.1. Link Smart Life account to Alexa
1. Tap ‘Skills’ in the hamburger menu, then search ‘Smart Life’. Select ‘Smart Life’ and tap ‘ENABLE’ to enable the Skill.
2. You will be redirected to the account link page. Type in your Smart Life account and password, don’t forget to select the country/region where your account belongs to. Then tap ‘Link Now’ to link your Smart Life account. The country /region, the account, and the password must match with the exact content in Step 2.2.
4. Control your smart devices through Echo
4.1. Discover devices
Echo needs to discover your smart devices before it controls them. You can say ‘Alexa, discover devices’ to Echo. Echo will discover devices which have already been added in the Smart Life app.
You can also tap ‘DISCOVER’ to discover the smart devices. Discovered devices will be shown in the list.
NOTE: every time you change the device’s name on Smart Life app, Echo must re-discover before you control them.
4.2 Control devices by voice commands
Now you can control your smart devices through Echo. You can use the following commands to control your devices (e.g., bedroom light):
Alexa, turn on/off bedroom light.
Alexa, set bedroom light to 50 percent.
Alexa, brighten/dim bedroom light.
Alexa, set bedroom light to green.
Alexa, set bedroom light to warm white.
Alexa, set air conditioner to 24ºC.
WHY ARE THE SCHEDULES NOT PERFORMED OR INACCURATE?
It is recommended that you re-edit the schedule, if it still does not work, please remove the device and add it again.
HOW TO SHARE THE DEVICE WITH MY FAMILY?
1. You can enter the single device control page in the app, click “…” in the upper right corner to enter more functions, click ‘Shared devices’ – ‘Add Sharing’, enter the phone number of the other party, click ‘Finish’, you can put the device Share for family use.
2. Click ‘Me – ‘Property Management’ in the app to enter the family that needs to be set up, click ‘Add members’, add family and friends by phone number or email address, who need to share the device to the family, and share the devices in all the properties.
HOW TO SET UP SMART SCENES?
On the ‘Smart’ page, select a scene and go to the settings page. You can edit a name, click ‘Add an execution action’ or ‘+’ in the top right corner to add an action.
